As an avid wine drinker (piss artist as I have been referred) I somehow had the luck for it to become my work. All my dreams came true at once, I was going to be paid to drink wine! 

I am constantly learning (and drinking) and a couple of friends Rob and Natalie, who will feature regularly, asked me to start a website to share my opinions with others. So I am.

I plan to do at least one tasting a week, wines will be scored (thanks Robert Parker for thinking of that one), but will also include something called the Fifi Factor. I often taste wines and become overwhelmed by a strange aspect of the nose or palate (it all started with a smoked salmon tasting Pinot Noir on Waiheke, NZ - after returning the wine several times explaining it was 'damaged' i realised, shock horror, the wine maker had actually made the wine taste that way on purpose!).

So whenever I come across them I will update the Fifi Star, and the Fifi Factor. I will also include details of the tasting letting you know what we were eating etc. as of course this changes the impact of a wine. So there you go. That's what is going on here. For those of you interested in wine I do hope that you will find some interesting new wines, and I can not wait to hear from you telling me about wines you recommend or are dying to get your hands on!
